Particle Separator – Performance in Wet Conditions
The S&B Particle Separator is engineered to perform reliably in wet, muddy, and rainy environments. Because water droplets are heavier than air, the system naturally separates moisture just as effectively as dust, sand, and debris.
Any residual water that passes through the initial separation stage is safely routed through an integrated drain system positioned before the stock intake. This prevents water from entering your vehicle’s air box or engine.
Normal rain, puddle splashes, and stream crossings will not affect the Particle Separator’s performance. However, the intake opening should never be fully submerged or blocked. If a large wave or deep water temporarily covers the separator, airflow may be interrupted until it clears. Avoid extended operation under these conditions.
Scavenge Fan Durability
The Particle Separator’s Scavenge Fan is rated IP55 for dust and water resistance, ensuring consistent performance even in extreme off-road conditions. It is designed for 50,000+ hours of service life under normal use.
Every fan assembly is backed by an S&B 3-Year Warranty from the date of purchase, covering both materials and workmanship.

My fan stopped working just wondering if it is a typical thing to replace after a while. I have had it for about 6-7 years now
